The Hadley Preschool has been serving families and children from Hadley and surrounding towns for over two decades. Beyond their years of teaching experience, our lead teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education and are certified to teach preschool in Massachusetts. We currently have three classrooms, each with one lead teacher and one to two paraprofessionals per no more than twenty students. Maintaining this ratio allows children the personal attention they deserve.

Students in our program learn through play, interaction with peers, and from the guidance of teachers. Educational play fosters the development of language skills, mathematical skills, social skills, positive sense of self, and fine and gross motor skills. Our goal is to help children acquire abilities which will assist them in their later formal learning experiences.

Children who are 3 years old before September 1st are eligible to attend Hadley Preschool. All Hadley families with age-eligible children will receive, through the mail, a packet which describes the program, provides tuition rates, and offers an invitation to visit the program. The packet also includes the deadline for enrollment forms. Once all Hadley preschoolers are placed, children from other communities become eligible. We do not maintain a wait list before May for the upcoming school year, but after May a list is maintained until all children are placed.

Options for enrollment:

  • Full-day classes beginning at 8:30am with dismissal at 3:00pm.
  • Half-day morning classes which meet from 8:30am to 11:15am.
  • Half-day afternoon classes which meet from 12:00pm to 2:45pm.

Parents may choose the number of days their student attends.

“We were worried about our son’s transition to a new environment, but the expertise, care and comfort shown by the preschool team made for a very smooth adjustment. We’re so happy with the Hadley Preschool that we are sending our younger son one year earlier than originally planned.”–Beth Feeney, Hadley, MA
